I created the card symbols by overlapping glyphs in Adobe Illustrator, for the number cards I used the symbols to make a diamond shape that would surround the four symbols in the center, For the face cards, I created a design using the first letter, such as K for King, etc. and made crowns for each by overlapping glyphs. This was my first project using Illustrator, and I learned to use layers rather than trying to use 54 artboards. I had them printed on Premium 310gsm casino quality cardstock and plastic coated on a linen finish because I liked the feel of the cardstock and it resists dirt.
